Residency: Fabulations, Body, and City

Over four months, Peneira conducted an artistic research process that articulated the creative method Fabulations of the Territory with dance improvisation as a scenic language. Through sponsorship from the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, weekly movement practices were held at the Choreographic Center of the City of Rio de Janeiro, aimed at developing an artistic process, in addition to two workshops open to the public and a process showing as the conclusion of the residency. Artists from different territories of the metropolitan region participated in this artistic experimentation laboratory.

Using memory, orality, and everyday life as guiding axes, and through the combination of languages, we proposed that participants engage with different modes of making in an interactive process. One of the characteristics of the process is the articulation of individual knowledge and, through a set of artistic techniques, the collective intervention in the territory in an inventive way. It is a proposal structured around the idea of a city constituted through a network of relationships woven by subjects who daily reshape the boundaries between territory, home and street, the real and the virtual.
